"Espia-Maré"is the name of a small yellowish crab that inhabits the Atlantic Coast, from Rio Grande do Sul (Brasil) up to Maine (USA).
It is also known as Maria-Farinha and Guaruçá (its indigenous name).

PARATY
Cobblestones, flooded at high tide, an ancient port used for shipping the gold from Minas Gerais to Portugal.
Idyllic church squares, a small hill fort, old houses with original stone doorsteps, lofts and architecture.
Since colonial times Paraty has been synonymous with the finest "cachaça"(the national beverage, made from sugar cane).
Take a stroll through the town and discover its charms; take a trip on a fish boat; follow the many trails around the town (including the old 'gold trail').
Try the delicious local pastries.
TAKE YOUR TIME.

THE VILLA "Espia-Maré"
It has six apartments designed for comfort and quiet (which means no TV). All bar one face the sea and the sunrise, each with its private veranda. Hammocks. Shady garden overlooking the sea.
Breakfast is served in a salon (also overlooking the sea) constructed from local craftmanship in wood and stone.
We are open all year round and would be delighted to welcome you in English.
