PARATY
Cobblestones, flooded at high tide, an ancient port used for shipping
the gold from Minas Gerais to Portugal.
Idyllic church squares, a small hill fort, old houses with original
stone doorsteps, lofts and architecture.
Since colonial times Paraty has been synonymous with the finest
"cachaça"(the national beverage, made from sugar
cane).
Take a stroll through the town and discover its charms; take a
trip on a fish boat; follow the many trails around the town (including
the old 'gold trail').
Try the delicious local pastries.
TAKE YOUR TIME.
